Huge news today with Universal Pictures announcing that its film adaptation of 80s TV hit, ‘The Fall Guy’ will be filmed in Sydney. Star of the movie, Ryan Gosling will relocate to Sydney while filming takes place and according to MP Paul Fletcher we can expect 3,015 extras will be needed to make the movie.
Created by Glen A. Larson, the original ‘The Fall Guy’ had Lee Majors in the title role, as a Hollywood stunt man who works a side hustle as a bounty hunter to make ends meet. The popular series ran for more than 100 episodes between 1981-1986.
Fletcher said “We are pleased to welcome ‘The Fall Guy’ down under with $30 million in support from our highly successful Location Incentive, with the production to employ over 1,000 Australian cast and crew, and more than 3,015 Australian extras”.
NSW Minister for the Arts, Ben Franklin, said New South Wales had become one of the most sought after places to film major Hollywood films.
Filming is rumoured to be starting in Spring. Watch this space…
