The cast of the highly-anticipated series ‘NCIS: SYDNEY’, which is currently filming, has been announced.

The ‘NCIS: SYDNEY’ team will be led by NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey played by Olivia Swann and her 2IC AFP counterpart, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey played by Todd Lasance.

They are joined by Sean Sagar as NCIS Special Agent, DeShawn Jackson; Tuuli Narkle as AFP Liaison Officer, Constable Evie Cooper; Mavournee Hazel as AFP Forensic Scientist, Bluebird ‘Blue’ Gleeson and William McInnes as AFP Forensic Pathologist, Dr Roy Penrose.

The first-ever international series from the global NCIS franchise sees rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific. The brilliant and eclectic team of U.S. NCIS Agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multi-national taskforce, to keep naval crimes in check, in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet.

NCIS is one of the world’s most successful TV dramas, ranking as the #1 U.S. TV drama franchise globally. In the U.S. alone, NCIS has amassed over 4.1 trillion minutes viewed across the entire franchise during its 20 years on TV.

‘Queen of Oz’, a new comedy series starring Catherine Tate, will premiere on ABC TV on June 21, 4 days after debuting on BBC in the UK.

The series, filmed in Sydney, sees scandalous party-girl Princess Georgiana (Catherine Tate), relocated to Australia in an effort to get her as far away from London as possible. This plan has a dual purpose, with Georgie’s parents crowning her Queen of Australia, hoping the new Queen will deter Australia from leaving the Commonwealth.

“She’s a reluctant Queen as she really thought she was going to live out her life going to parties, not do much of anything or have any responsibility,” says Tate.

The government announced at the Federal Budget that from July 1, the Location Offset will be permanently raised from 16.5 to 30 per cent.

The Location Incentive program has helped to bring 40 international productions to Australia in the last five years, and generated $3.28 billion for the economy. The benefit of this support was particularly noticeable during the pandemic, with many foreign films being filmed in Sydney, including blockbuster Marvel projects such as ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘ and ‘Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings‘. 

As part of the additional funding package, productions will be subject to increased reporting requirements including capturing data on employment of Australian crew and use of Australian businesses.

The offset can be used for films with QAPE (Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure) in excess of $20 million or series with a QAPE of at least $1.5 million per hour.

‘Erotic Stories’, SBS’s provocative new anthology drama series, has commenced production in Sydney with a stellar ensemble cast including Golden Globe Best Actress nominee Frances O’Connor (The Missing, Madam Bovary, The End).

O’Connor is joined by Kate Box (‘Rake‘), Danielle Cormack (‘Year Of‘, ‘Secret She Keeps‘), Rarriwuy Hick (‘Wentworth‘), Googoorewon Knox (‘While The Men Are Away‘), Melanie Vallejo (‘Upgrade’), Tim Draxl (‘A Place to Call Home‘), Yuchen Wang (‘New Gold Mountain’), Dominic Ona-Ariki (‘Shortland Street’), Bert LaBonte (‘Colin From Accounts‘), Emily Havea (‘Latecomers’), Fayssal Bazzi (‘Shantaram’), Bernie Van Tiel (‘Class of ’07‘), Roman Delo (‘Bump‘), Victoria Haralabidou (‘Wakefield’), Kween Kong (‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’) and Alex FitzAlan (upcoming, ‘Prosper‘), and introduces Joel Lago and Crystal Nguyen in their breakout roles.
