Nicole Kidman is in negotiations with Foxtel to produce a ‘passion’ project here in Australia. We’ve all seen how great the results can be when Aussies follow their passions to create great drama (Big Little Lies, Top of The Lake). We can’t wait to see Nicole Kidman’s debut as a producer of Australian television.

Theres’ more info about the project in the Daily Telegraph.

Self Test for New Feature Film

August 28, 2017/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

kellygang (1)

Did you know that the world’s first feature film was an Australian production? The story of the Kelly gang was made in 1906 and is recognised as the world’s first feature film.

Over 100 years later, here we are submitting self tests for a new feature film based on the history of the Kelly gang. A self test is when a casting director will ask you to video yourself speaking a few lines to camera or acting out a scene. This will then lead on to a full audition if you pass the self test stage.

Be part of the Grease Arena Experience

August 24, 2017/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Grease Arena

The Grease Arena Experience is coming to Sydney during January school holidays and they are looking for amateur performers between the ages of 10 and 21 to be part of an amateur ensemble cast. It’s an amateur (unpaid) role suitable for anyone who is keen to get more practical experience in stage productions. All the information is contained on the Grease Arena Show webpage. You should apply directly with them, it’s not affiliated with MCTV in any way.

There is a bootcamp that successful applicants will be required to attend too and there seems to be a small fee payable for this. Anyone who is interested should check the details carefully before applying. Kids all over Australia have already been a part of this production as you can see on their Facebook page.

A small number of MCTV actors were lucky enough to audition for paid roles in the new production last week too. What an opportunity!

Top of the Lake China Girl first episode

August 21, 2017/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

nicole-topoflake

I saw some familiar faces last night on Top of the Lake on BBC First. In the scenes on Bondi Beach, I could recognise lots of MCTV people.

After watching the first episode, I have to say I am totally impressed. While there were some awkward moments at the start filling us in on what happened in the amazing season one, it moved on fairly smoothly into the real plot and had me gripped. Though we knew Nicole Kidman was starring, I wasn’t expecting her to be featured so soon and Elisabeth Moss was outstanding as usual. Can’t wait to see episode 2.

A huge congratulations to MCTV’s Amit Pala landing a leading role in the new ABC series Deadlock. Amit and Luca Sardelis are having a bit of fun with some chocolate cake during pre production up in the Northern Rivers region.

DEADLOCK crashes though the incredible highs, heartbreak, camaraderie, laughs and bittersweet sorrow of what it is to be a teenager. When a mysterious car crash exposes the dark underbelly of an idyllic paradise, it dramatically changes the lives of the teens it touches.

August 14, 2017/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

growingupgracefully

The girls from Growing up Gracefully have put together a great video proposing an cheeky and alternative way to deal with the gender pay gap. It’s fantastic, check it out.

The gender pay gap is complicated. Luckily @HMReilly & @elizareilly_ have a solution #LeaveAt343 ⏰ #GrowingUpGracefully pic.twitter.com/omaMswFI40

— ABC TV Australia (@ABCTV) August 10, 2017

I had my first chance to catch a full episode of Growing Up Gracefully over the weekend and was quite impressed. If you haven’t seen it yet:

Sisters Hannah & Eliza Reilly are two misguided twentysomethings, who after rediscovering the 1950s teen-advice book ‘Growing Up Gracefully’, ask themselves, as young women in 2017, how do we learn to grow up?

It was quite entertaining with June Daly Watkins making an appearance int he first episode. 22 MCTV background actors also appear through-ought the series helping with some of the stunts.

Dragana Gambiroza-Lazic

I’ve been with MCTV for a few years now and found them wonderful. I’ve had a much better experience than with my last agency and am particularly impressed by their management of my daughter through Joey’s

Elizabeth Bouris

Within my first month, I’ve been considered 3 times, got an audition for a TVC, and then a call back. And even a job offer with a leading Bank.
I signed my children with the agency & while I was at the office, Paul gave us a casting for the kids the same afternoon.

M.C.T.V has been very good to me for over three years now! I do appreciate their efforts in finding me work in four major motion pictures and other jobs
