Production for the thrilling crime drama ‘After the Verdict‘ is underway in Sydney. In exciting news for the production, eOne has just announced that they will be distributing this Australian original internationally, with local release on Channel 9 later this year.

More cast announcements have also been made with Michelle Lim Davidson (‘The Newsreader’) and Tess Haubrich (‘Wolf Creek’) joining the previously announced Sullivan Stapleton, Magda Szubanski and Lincoln Younes. Virginia Gay, Emma Diaz, Richard Brancatisano, Nicholas Brown, Hazem Shammas and Vivienne Awosoga.

Ellie Beaumont (Writer, Producer and Exec Producer for Subtext Pictures) said “We are excited to be working again with the 9Network to bring another original series to Australian screens. We look forward to collaborating with our super talented cast and creative team to tell the tale of four rogue jurors who go to entertaining extremes to uncover the truth” .

Congratulations to Lester and Tutai who filmed this clever new Specsavers ad at the end of last year.

This ad is a great example of how people can be styled differently to work in different roles on camera – from a mild looking hipster to a bikie for example. If you have been with us for a while, or if you haven’t landed a role yet, maybe it’s time for a new photograph.

The PM’s Daughter was filmed in Sydney and Canberra earlier this year. It will premiere on ABC ME and ABC iView on the 1st of January.

The ten-part Australian political comedy drama series is aimed at children and young teenagers. The series follows the story Cat Parkes Pérez, a teen activist whose life is thrown into disarray when her mother is unexpectedly thrust into the role of Prime Minister.

‘6 Festivals’ is a new feature film which will premiere in cinemas in 2022 and is the first local production for Paramount+.

Maxie, Summer and James are three mid-teen best friends whose friendship has been brought up short by the diagnosis James has brain cancer. We meet them at a raving music festival in the immediate aftermath of this deadly bombshell to find out this is the first of many festivals they plan to escape to – to deny or keep at bay the reality they must ultimately face.

Principal filming for this feature film took place earlier this year at music festivals in locations including Wollongong and the Sunshine Coast.

It will have a soundtrack of some of Australia’s hottest music acts, some of whom will feature in cameo appearances including G Flip, Dune Rats, Alison Wonderland, Bliss n Eso, Peking Duk, PNAU, Example, Hooligan Hefs, The Amity Affliction, JessB, B Wise and Running Touch.

Earlier this month MCTV provided extras for the film. Congratulations to everyone who had the opportunity to work on this project, which is going to be an amazing blend of film and music – can’t wait.

‘Class of ’07’ is in production in Sydney and various locations around NSW.

Aussie actors, Emily Browning, Caitlin Stasey and Megan Smart will play former classmates in the series described as “Lord of the Flies in cocktail dresses”.

‘Class of ’07’ is Amazon’s fourth Australian scripted original, joining Back to the Rafters, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart and Deadloch, and one of 14 local commissions made since 2019. It will release in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The 8×30 min episode comedy series sees an apocalyptic tidal wave hit during the 10-year reunion of an all-girls high school. The group of women then must find a way to survive on the island peak of their high school campus, freshly entangled in decade-old drama. Check out Variety for more details.
