March 7, 2023/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

BBC Studios Australia is looking to expand further into premium scripted production and partnering on local projects. They have just appointed Warren Clarke (Executive Producer ‘Wellmania‘) as Head of Scripted as they develop more premium productions and Australia specific versions of existing shows.

Kylie Washington, GM and Creative Director, Production said:

“This is an exciting time for BBC Studios, we have big ambitions for the scripted side of our business with some announcements coming later this year.  There is a real appetite globally for Australian produced drama.  Warren’s local creative expertise, coupled with BBC Studios’ brilliant drama catalogue, international contacts and proven ability to fund content, mean we are in a great position to capitalise on that.”

Sydney TV to ‘Prosper’

March 3, 2023/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

‘Prosper’ is a new epic family drama series to be made by Sydney based Lingo Pictures. The series has been co-commissioned by Hollywood studio Lionsgate Films and Stan is said to be akin to international hit ‘Succession’, but with religion instead of a media empire at the centre of the power struggles.

The producers are billing ‘Prosper’ as an epic family drama: “A razor-sharp drama of faith, ambition and divided loyalties, ‘Prosper’ is set in the inner sanctum of a family bound together by unfathomable wealth and unchecked power as they build an evangelical megachurch hell-bent on global domination.”

Major cast announcements are yet to happen, however the series will be written by lead creative and executive producer Matt Cameron (‘Jack Irish’), Liz Doran (‘Barons‘), Louise Fox (‘Broadchurch’) and Belinda Chayko (‘Stateless’).  The series will be produced by Jason Stephens and Helen Bowden of Lingo Pictures.

Submissions are happening now for this one. Best of luck to everyone submitted so far.

Although specific locations have not been revealed, Gluck has previously hinted Sydney may be the location:

“I am so excited to make a movie that shows Sydney for Sydney, especially because I won’t have to ‘frame out the Opera House’.”

I’ve been with MCTV for a few years now and found them wonderful. I’ve had a much better experience than with my last agency and am particularly impressed by their management of my daughter through Joey’s

Elizabeth Bouris

Within my first month, I’ve been considered 3 times, got an audition for a TVC, and then a call back. And even a job offer with a leading Bank.
