Spot the 150 MCTV Gods in this new Trailer

When Gerard Butler came to Sydney’s Fox Studios to film Gods of Egypt with Aussie actors Geoffrey Rush and Brenton Thwaites, over 150 MCTV actors and extras joined them. Whenever a large production films in Sydney, MCTV Talent work alongside the big stars. For this movie, many of our talent either were from an Egyptian background or were lucky enough to look like they were from Egyptian heritage.

It’s sometimes a long wait between filming and production, and this is no exception. MCTV talent were working on this movie early to mid 2014 and yet God’s of Egypt won’t hit our screens until February 25 2016. I bet it will be worth the wait.

New Alien Movie Shooting in Sydney from April 4 2016

We’ve all been waiting patiently to find out where in Australia the new Alien movie would be filming and we’re so excited to say that it is now confirmed to be filming in Sydney.

Pre-production starts before Christmas with filming to start in April. That means castings for this new production will be starting soon.

If you want to have a chance of being picked for this awesome production, you will need to be on the MCTV books before the castings start.

Looking through the books we seem a little short on aliens right now. So, if you are from another planet and are confident in front of the camera, you should get in touch with us soon.

Michael Fassbender, who played David in Prometheus, will return in Alien: Covenant.

Everyone is having a ball filming Hacksaw Ridge in Sydney

With so much effort put into the new blockbuster Hacksaw Ridge, it’s great to see the boys enjoying themselves on set.

MCTV talent had to attend bootcamp military training to ensure that that their performances would be authentic. MCTV extras and Actors have been working on the production since August with many of them having fairly regular work since then. To keep the production on track there have been many day – night shoots that involved both long hours and plenty of overtime.

A big thankyou has to go to the state government for contributing an undisclosed sum to keep this production in Sydney.

Three Australian actors have snapped an impromptu moment with the actor-director on set.

Hollywood magnate’s Aussie push

Expect more and more feature films to be shot here in Australia. Australian connections to the heavyweights of Hollywood are bringing more and more movies downunder. That’s good news for people wanting work in Australian Film and TV.

It is a match made in Hollywood heaven. He is a US film mogul, and she is Australia’s most powerful woman.But this is no script for a Hollywood movie romance. Rather, it is a budding business relationship between LA uber-producer, RatPac Entertainment boss Brett Ratner, and our own Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.

Just in case you missed the news last Friday, the government has announced some fantastic tax breaks that mean that the new Thor and Alien movies will be produced in Australia. If they can continue to incentivise production companies we should see more and more blockbusters here in Australia.

More Aussies enlist for Mel’s Hacksaw Ridge

Give a cheer for our MCTV Troops who have been filming on the set of Hacksaw Ridge over the last month. I’m sure they will do us all proud in the months of production to come.
