Dance Academy: The Movie begins shooting in Sydney

There’s been an exciting lead up to production on Dance Academy the Movie. With MCTV submitting a number of extreme ballerinas a couple of months back and now shooting has finally begun. Just this week we had about 20 people on set in a very glamorous scene, there was no need for ballet skills for those 20 though. There should be much more coming through over the next few months. Alien Covenant Submissions Starting Up Again

Everyone has been waiting patiently for an update about Alien Covenant. We are under strict instructions not to reveal anything about the production so unfortunately I can’t reveal anything you couldn’t find with a simple Google search. All I can say is that some of our people have already been successful in landing a place on the production and that we are submitting more people at the moment.

MCTV people filming with Award Winning Actor

Dozens of our MCTV people are on set this week filming a new movie for Korea with Lee Byung Hun. The star just finished accepting the Best Actor award at the 10th Asian Film Awards and has been featured in movies such as Terminator, GI Joe, The Magnificent Seven. This week they were filming a movie called A single Rider at a very well known Sydney beach.

Korean actor Lee Byung Hun took home the Best Actor award at the 10th Asian Film Awards (AFA) held in Macau on Mar 17.The star bagged the trophy for the film “Inside Men.”The film was released last November, selling 7 million tickets and grossing $48.71 million (P2.25 billion) at the Korean box office.Lee won the award over Donnie Yen of Hong Kong, Nagase Masatoshi of Japan, Feng Xiaogang of China, and John Arcilla of the Philippines who was nominated for…

MCTV submitting stand ins for Major Motion Picture

Back in 2000 when Mission Impossible 2 was filmed in Sydney, MCTV supplied stand-ins for a number of actors including Tom Cruise himself. Each time a major production is filming in Sydney, we are asked to search through our books for people who look similar to the main stars. More often than not we find someone who fits the bill. It’s no different today, with major productions happening in Sydney in the coming months we have been searching for talent that look like famous movie stars. It looks like at least one of our people will get a role and we have our fingers crossed for others.

Oscars 2016: MCTV Extras and Actors hoping for a win

While the odds are pretty long for a best picture win, the chances of further accolades are pretty high. Already the film has a very impressive list of awards to be proud of. And to think that the movie almost didn’t happen.

As with almost every production filmed here in Sydney, MCTV people were on set and a big part of the action. Heavy costumes and long hours meant this one was almost as gruelling as the apocalyptic world they inhabited.

If some categories seem to be decided already, there will still be surprises at the 88th Academy Awards.

Alien Covenant Casting has Begun

We’ve already submitted people for a few roles for Alien Covenant and we are receiving more roles most weeks. We expect to be submitting people regularly from now through until the start of production in April.

If this movie is anything like any of the other blockbusters we have been involved with, there will be lots of people required with a wide variety of looks, ages and ethnicities. If you are keen for a chance at a role on this or any of the other productions we are involved with you should come in and see us. You will need to have a flexible work schedule and be based in Sydney. There’s plenty more information on our website.
