We’ve been submitting lot’s of people for the new TV series Wake in Fright that will be shooting both in Sydney and Broken Hill. It’s a remake of a 1971 thriller that scored critical acclaim around the world. Shooting has started this week and is expected to run for at least a couple of months.
Every week MCTV background and featured actors head on set to film new TV commercials and print campaigns. Here’s the 10 most interesting ones from last week.
With so many people (including us) who can’t wait to see the next series of Top of the Lake (TopOfTheLakeBBC), I was happy to receive the call about the final pickup scenes for the new season. A pickup is an extra scene that is shot late in the production cycle to fill in any gaps or reshoot something that wasn’t quite right. As much as I am desperate to see the new season, I am so happy that they are taking a diligent approach. It gives me more faith that the series is going to be a red hot cracker.
All through last year we had background and featured actors going on set to film Top of the Lake and now we will have some of the original actors and others in the pickup scenes this week.
It was announced late in production that Nicole Kidman would join the cast and here’s a great shot from the set of her playing an Australian mother named Julia who crosses paths with Detective Griffin.
We’ve just been submitting loads of background and featured actors for a new and exciting TV series called ‘Pulse’ which will start filming very soon. The series “centres around a transplant patient who becomes a doctor in the cardio-thoracic ward of a major teaching hospital”.
This new ad from Bundaberg has MCTV people throughout. Over 80 background actors from MCTV appeared in this commercial in just about every scene. Well done to everyone, it is a fantastic ad.
So many amazing movies and TV shows filming right now in Sydney: The Twelve, Secrets She Keeps S2, Class of ’07, After the Verdict and Heartbreak High. Upcoming productions are being announced every week, and a big year ahead with blockbusters like Furiosa expected to start production soon…watch this space!!
All the Easter campaigns for Woolworths and Coles are just about to hit and we’ve been submitting MCTV people for all the campaigns.
Some very lucky MCTV background actors are checking their passports for a two and a half month job on a TV set in Fiji. Not only so they get paid for the whole time they are there, they get flights accommodation and food paid for. As if that wasn’t enough, the TV show that they will appear in is a very well known production.
Even while we have loads of people going on set for Pacific Rim, Peter Rabbit and Love Child, we had over 150 background and featured actors in a variety of TV Commercials last week
We are into the second round of submissions for the new thriller TV series Wake in Fright. A month ago we submitted hundreds of people for the main cast and now it’s time for the background roles. Some of the actors may even be heading off to Broken Hill to film some of the scenes. We are really excited to be a part of this production and we are really looking forward to seeing the final product when it hits our screens.
