Family is a funny business… Sando is a new comedy series from the ABC airing on Wednesday 21st March 2018 . MCTV is proud to have supplied background talent for this production.
Over 70 MCTV people were shooting a new commercial for Johnnie Walker over the weekend. Looking forward to seeing this one because big budget ads like this are usually good ones.
Update: The ad is now hit our screens and it really is a good one. Take a look.

We are delighted to be involved with Network Ten’s new series Street Smart. “Premiering in 2018, Street Smart follows a gang of would-be criminals who see themselves as cool, Ocean’s Eleven-style gangsters but, in reality, are absolutely and utterly hopeless.” Street Smart has started shooting in Sydney and MCTV have already begun supplying background actors. It’s great to see the first trailer for the brand new crime series Bite Club. 138 of our background and featured actors had the awesome opportunity to appear in this production. Lot’s of lovely days filming at Manly late last year with some of them paid simply to surf around in the background at the beach.
In great news for the local Film and TV industry, BBC has decided to start up a local production arm. The first production is Stargazing Live 2, a follow on from the successful interactive production of the same name from last year. After that, it’s anyone’s guess what will follow but they have expressed a clear intention to work with the local industry and grow production.
Another new production has just started filming in Sydney. The second season of Secret City started production last week. We’ve already had a few people go off for castings and expecting more. MCTV had a bunch of background actors on the first season so we are expecting similar numbers for this season.
Super excited that the new season of A Place to Call Home is about to start filming. We’ve had over two dozen people on the previous season with many of them appearing on a regular basis. Go sees will start at the end of next week.
Some of our young and very bright minded performers are auditioning to be the host of a brand new TV series on SBS. The series is called Child Genius and it will be on our screens later this year. If you think you might know Australia’s brightest child, they should apply as contestants on the SBS website.
Nice job Wendy on this speaking role in the new Australian Seniors Insurance ad. After joining us in June 2017, Wendy has already landed roles for Hoyts, The TV Series Riot, Aldi, Little Monsters (The Movie), News Local and now this for Australian Seniors Insurance. Fantastic work! We can’t wait to see what’s next.
