A huge congratulations to Amit Pala (Left in picture) for his great work on the new iView series Deadlock (Click through for trailer). The whole series will drop on July 20 on iView for immediate binge-watching. At the same time, the series will host a launch event at the Splendour in the Grass festival at Byron Bay. The series was shot in the Northern Rivers region so a launch at Splendour is very appropriate.

The trailer for deadlock looks fantastic and evokes the freedom, excitement and danger of youth.

“A clandestine ‘tunnel party’ in the depths of the hinterland in northern NSW draws kids from all over the area but when a spectacular stunt leads to a car crash, a group of five teens face events that will transform their lives and their idyllic landscape forever.”

If you were a fan of the original Crocodile Dundee movie then a great opportunity could be just around the corner. Paul Hogan is shooting a new film called The Very Excellent Mr Dundee!

“The Very Excellent Mr Dundee! sees Paul Hogan playing himself and on the brink of receiving a Knighthood for services to comedy. ‘Don’t do anything to mess this up,’ his manager tells him. However, despite all his best efforts, the next six weeks sees his name and reputation hilariously destroyed.”

The film will shoot in Australia, Los Angeles and Vancouver this July. At this stage it’s not clear if there will be any scenes shot in Sydney but stay tuned for updates.

We’ve had a bunch of people on the set of a new reality dating show for Channel 7 called Take Me Out. Our people are there to help during the technical rehearsals of the show, not the actual filming. They stand in where the contestants would be so the film and sound crews can get everything right before the real show. A bit of fun and a great story to share with your friends I’m sure. The show itself seems to be similar to the hugely popular Chinese phenomenon If You Are The One which airs on SBS.

Can’t say too much about this one until more is released into the public domain. All I can say is that we have been sending people on set for a new true crime series that looks really great. Will post some more information when possible, stay tuned.

Check out this time lapse video of the Alien Covenant sets getting constructed at Fox Studios in Sydney. Whenever big productions like this come to Sydney there is plenty of work for everyone. With the recent announcements from the government we expect more to land on our doorstep pretty soon.
