Over a dozen MCTV people in Orange is the new Brown

October 30, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Watching the trailer for this gives me memories fo the good old days of Australian sketch comedy withFast Forward, Full Frontal and The Comedy Company. Looks like it might have it’s fair share of Dad jokes but i’m pretty sure my kids are going to love it. Let’s hope so because popular sketch shows in the past have run for up to 10 years and provide loads of opportunities for background and featured people in the sketches. It’s coming soon to channel 7 so keep an eye out for it.

Series 2 of The Letdown has started filming in Sydney

October 29, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

tehletdown

We have already sent some background actors on set for the new series of The Letdown. Supported by ABC locally and Netflix internationally, season 2 starts with all the babies turning one, where life with child has become the new norm and Audrey finally feels she’s mastering motherhood and life…but is she?. The series should be shooting for the next couple of months if the last series is anything to go by. Series 1 provided some great opportunities for MCTV background and featured actors and we are excited to be involved with series 2.

Stand ins for Australian Survivor finale

October 17, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Some very excited MCTV people had the opportunity to join the production of Australian Survivor. When we are asked to provide stand-ins for reality TV, we have to find people who are roughly the same size and complexion as the contestants. Our MCTV people will then be asked to go through the motions of what will happen on the real day. That way, the camera and sound crews can rehearse to locate their equipment for the best shots on the day.

MCTV kids invade ALDI with their good looks

October 16, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

The special buys bins were overflowing with pyjamas featuring MCTV kids on the packs. Oliver (featured on the astronaut PJ pack) was pretty happy and a little astonished to see his picture in the shops. What made him even happier was buying a pretty fancy drone with the money he received from the photo shoot.

I am Woman go sees this week

October 15, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Helen Reddy’s tumultuous and inspirational life story is the subject of a new feature length film that is about to start shooting in Sydney. Helen Reddy rose to stardom on the back of her smash hit single I am Woman. This week, the producers and casting directors will be holding go sees for MCTV people who fit the criteria for this production. It’s very exciting for everyone who is involved.

Submitting for a new McDonalds campaign

September 25, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

MCTV people have been in loads of different McDonalds campaigns over the years. The most recent campaign is this fantastic McDonalds Monopoly campaign with the spooky drummer. We often get upgrades on these campaigns where someone who went to shoot the commercial being payed as a background extra get’s upgraded to a featured extra and get’s a very substantial payment in exchange.

Right now though, we are submitting people for a new McDonalds campaign. Fingers crossed for some upgrades for our great MCTV people there too.

Earn $3000 by talking about your breakfast

You might find it hard to believe that someone would be willing to pay $3000 for something so simple. But I can assure you it is completely legit. You can sign up directly yourself at the casting website for this Kelloggs TVC. This one is an open casting call which means it is open to anyone and everyone (most MCTV jobs are not open like this), so there will be a lot of competition for the small number of roles paying $3000 but it’s worth having a crack if you can spare the time.

Liane Moriarty film adaptation to shoot near Sydney

September 19, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

scribblygumisland

In a 60 Minutes interview last Sunday Liane Moriarty revealed that her novel The Last Anniversary would be filmed in Sydney’s Hawkesbury region. It turns out that Scribbly Gum island was inspired by Dangar Island on Sydney’s Hakesbury river. At this point, we don’t know much more. The film rights have been acquired by CBS films, but when it actually makes it to production is anyones guess at this stage. Still, very exciting news.

Helen Reddy was the first Australian to win a Grammy award. Her song “I am Woman” became the anthem of the 1975 women’s movement and her life epitomised the very struggle that women were experiencing at that time. Now here story is being made into a feature length film that will shoot later this year in Sydney, Los Angeles and New York. The lead role will be played by Tilda Cobham-Hervey (right in pic) and we are currently submitting for supporting and background roles. For more details about the production see IF Magazine.

Dragana Gambiroza-Lazic

I’ve been with MCTV for a few years now and found them wonderful. I’ve had a much better experience than with my last agency and am particularly impressed by their management of my daughter through Joey’s

Elizabeth Bouris

Within my first month, I’ve been considered 3 times, got an audition for a TVC, and then a call back. And even a job offer with a leading Bank.
I signed my children with the agency & while I was at the office, Paul gave us a casting for the kids the same afternoon.

M.C.T.V has been very good to me for over three years now! I do appreciate their efforts in finding me work in four major motion pictures and other jobs
