Record spend on Australian production in 2018

November 21, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Local production was at record highs while foreign productions shot in Australia is at 5 year lows. New South Wales still took the largest share of expenditure with so many TV series and local films being produced. Some of those series like Mr Inbetween have found success offshore paving the way for further local productions that reach an international audience. The lower Australian dollar should be a positive for attracting those foreign productions again in 2019. For more info see IF Magazine.

MCTV people on the set of No Activity shooting in Sydney

November 20, 2018/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

We are huge fans of the team behind No Activity and The Moodys. That’s why it’s such a great honour for us to be supplying talent for No Activity itself. In the past there haven’t been many opportunities for background and supporting roles on this series because it relies on the one on one wit of the various comedians. Thankfully though, we were asked to supply some people for some larger scenes over the weekend.

People often ask if they have what it takes to be a background extra. Here’s a perfect example of how easy it can be. Just last week hundreds of people were sent as paid audience members for a new TV series. Now, that doesn’t sound hard does it. It’s really not that much different being a background extra. You just need to listen to instructions and follow them. The main qualification is having a flexible work or study schedule so you can attend on the shoot dates. The rest of it is literally like a walk in the park.

I signed up with MCTV yesterday and they applied me for 5 jobs already, one of which was successful. So excited to be back in business after long break. Looking forward working with you guys!

Dragana Gambiroza-Lazic

I’ve been with MCTV for a few years now and found them wonderful. I’ve had a much better experience than with my last agency and am particularly impressed by their management of my daughter through Joey’s

Elizabeth Bouris

Within my first month, I’ve been considered 3 times, got an audition for a TVC, and then a call back. And even a job offer with a leading Bank.
I signed my children with the agency & while I was at the office, Paul gave us a casting for the kids the same afternoon.

M.C.T.V has been very good to me for over three years now! I do appreciate their efforts in finding me work in four major motion pictures and other jobs
