February 20, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Matt-Okine-Harriet-Dyer-TOG-S2-Announce

Over 50 MCTV people worked on the first season of Matt Okine’s Other Guy so we are happy to see the news that it’s been renewed for a second season. The first season shot in May last year, we expect this one to start shooting in the coming months.

Seven lucky kids from MCTV went to the set of Peter Rabbit 2 to be fitted for their costumes last week. Not a bad excuse for why you can’t be at school. Of course everything is above board with a letter from each school principal required to excuse the children from School.

We have sent at least eighty people to shoot scenes for Peter Rabbit 2 so far and production is still rolling. We’re pretty confident there will be more roles to come.

6 featured roles on Australia day lamb ad

February 18, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Screen Shot 2019-02-18 at 9.01.04 am

Out of the 30 people MCTV had shooting the latest Australia Day lamb ad, 6 of them landed featured roles. You can see Dennis clearly in the shot above and Florens in the shot below. Hannah, Lydia, Mattia and Richard were also upgraded (paid extra $$$) because they were featured in the final cut of the commercial. What’s nice about these upgrades is they are a total bonus. Everyone who went from MCTV was paid well to be in this commercial as an extra, but when the final cut was released, the people who happen to be featured received a healthy bonus. Oh! and did I mention, it’s a pretty fun thing to do with your day.

You can check out the final cut of the commercial below.

Featured role upgrades for Jim Beam commercial

February 11, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

JimBeamFeature

When Julius and Varun headed off to a shoot for this Jim Beam commercial, they were pretty happy. Along with 50 other people from MCTV they were going to get paid $33.62 per hour for a minimum of 6 hours on set having a bit of fun for the day.

Like a number of other MCTV people, Julius and Varun were actually booked for 2 days . Of course productions like these rarely go to schedule so there was overtime on both days so they ended up with almost a week’s pay for just 2 days.

What they didn’t expect was that they would be featured in the foreground of the commercial which gave them a very healthy boost to their earnings. By the end of it all they had enough for a holiday to Fiji, not bad for a couple of days work.

You can see the full commercial below.

Little Monsters eating brains at Sundance

February 6, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Little-Monsters

It was a great honour for Little Monsters to premier at Sundance but now it’s been reviewed as a “Cult Classic” by Dan Casey of Nerdist. No trailer to see as yet with a cinema release date yet to be announced. MCTV had around eighty people involved in the production of the show so we are keen for it to be a success.

Larrikin drama Les Norton to shoot in 2019

February 5, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV
"Ken Wills, The Real Les Norton" by Shé D'Montford. Archibald Prize Submission.

“Ken Wills, The Real Les Norton” by Shé D’Montford. Archibald Prize Submission.

Les Norton first appear in the book You Wouldn’t Be Dead For Quids (1984) and is described as stockily built and red-haired who doesn’t mind a fight. Rebel Wilson and David Wenham star in this TV adaptation of the series of books by Robert G Barret. They center around an illegal Casino based in Kings Cross in the eighties and all the wild action of those times. There’s alot of great creative talent behind the scenes on this production too so we are really looking forward to this one.

New film Babyteeth started shooting in Sydney

February 4, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

180502-Ben-Mendelsohn-Essie-Davis

Starring Essie Davis and Ben Mendelsohn, Babyteeth “is is a bittersweet comedy – what might have been a disaster for the Finlay family leads to letting go and finding grace in the glorious chaos of life, as Henry (Mendelsohn) and Anna (Davis) realise their seriously ill teenage daughter Milla has fallen madly in love with a drug dealer, Moses. This romance is Milla’s protective parents’ worst nightmare – but Milla doesn’t want to play it safe anymore. Things get messy and morals go out the window, as the lives of those around the family – their disarmingly honest pregnant neighbour, a brilliantly flawed music teacher, a child violin prodigy and Moses’ family – become intertwined.”

MCTV people have been heading on set over January and we expect that to continue for some time to come.

For more information about Babyteeth see this writeup on Screen Australia’s website.

New TV series The Unlisted shooting now

January 30, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

unlistedpic

The Unlisted has quite a dark subject matter for a kids show, but that could be the special sauce that makes it successful. The Unlisted follows teenage twins. One of whom has been implanted with some sort of device by the government. It sounds like a story line that could go plenty of different ways from there so I can’t wait to see what my kids think. We’ve had plenty of kids and adults appearing on The Unlisted over the past few months with more expected. Over the holidays it has been great because there hasn’t been so many school permission slips required.

I signed up with MCTV yesterday and they applied me for 5 jobs already, one of which was successful. So excited to be back in business after long break. Looking forward working with you guys!

Dragana Gambiroza-Lazic

I’ve been with MCTV for a few years now and found them wonderful. I’ve had a much better experience than with my last agency and am particularly impressed by their management of my daughter through Joey’s

Elizabeth Bouris

Within my first month, I’ve been considered 3 times, got an audition for a TVC, and then a call back. And even a job offer with a leading Bank.
I signed my children with the agency & while I was at the office, Paul gave us a casting for the kids the same afternoon.

See Myshell

M.C.T.V has been very good to me for over three years now! I do appreciate their efforts in finding me work in four major motion pictures and other jobs
