MCTV people at every NRL match in 2019

March 18, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

It was the first round of the 2019 NRL Season over the weekend and the first time our MCTV NRL fans showed their support in the new Decision pending screen. All of the tiny fans on the screen are from MCTV and they will be an integral part of each and every NRL game for the whole season. If you look really closely, you can see that some of the people are copied. In fact, digital trickery was used to replicate 20 MCTV people across this whole screen. So, it’s a little weird for the background actors who can say that they are performing alongside their clones for this production.

After receiving production funding from Screen Australia and Create NSW the film adaptation of Penguin Bloom will be getting underway soon. Starring Naomi Watts and produced by Reece Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea (Big Little Lies) it has all the right names behind it. Based on the international best-selling book of the same name, this magical film tells the true and emotional story of a family’s extraordinary friendship with a unique little bird. Set on Australia’s northern beaches, the film stars Naomi Watts (The Impossible) as Sam Bloom, a young mother recovering from a near-fatal accident that has left her unable to walk.

Casting for McDonald’s stills campaign

March 11, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

There’s a bunch of hopeful McDonald’s fans heading off today for a casting for a new still photography campaign. Castings are normally only used for higher paying jobs like this where they want to be sure that the people they pick are just right for the campaign. If you land a stills campaign like this and it’s successful, there can be additional payments if it’s really successful too.

March 5, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

If you didn’t catch it on Nine news last night, there was a great story about some of the filming of the Peter Rabbit sequel yesterday (YouTube video below). There’s even mention of our extras lining up for retakes. It’s a rare glimpse into what’s involved in a major film production like this.

Political thriller Black B*tch starts shooting

March 4, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Screen Shot 2019-03-04 at 10.19.36 am

Black B*tch is a political thriller with intrigue, backstabbing and power games — the kind of environment Australian voters seem all too aware of after years of real-life political farce in Canberra.

Rachel Griffiths plays Rachel Anderson, a ruthless prime minister who sees an opportunity in the story of Alex Irving (Mailman), an indigenous Gulf of Carpentaria woman who is thrust into the national spotlight.

We already have several people booked for the new series and we expect more over the next few months while the series continues shooting. More info about the series at news.com.au.

February 26, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

The exciting new series Les Norton that we covered here a few weeks ago is just about to start shooting. A ton of MCTV people are heading off for Go Sees this week to have a chance to land featured or speaking roles before production starts. Once production starts, there is usually many other opportunities for background extras too.

Upgrade from online to TV for Isowhey

February 25, 2019/in Acting and Extras Work in Sydney /by MCTV

Screen Shot 2019-02-25 at 9.27.01 am

Amazing work from Rebecca in this Isowhey commercial. This online commercial that Rebecca stars in was so successful that they have now decided to make it part of a television campaign. That’s great news for Rebecca because now without any additional work, she is going to be paid double. Because of her leading role in this commercial she will now end up with around a month’s pay for only a couple of days work. That might not be the end of it either, the additional payment she has received is for TV rights for 12 months only. If it’s successful on television it could get renewed again. Check out Rebecca’s great work in the video below.

I signed up with MCTV yesterday and they applied me for 5 jobs already, one of which was successful. So excited to be back in business after long break. Looking forward working with you guys!

Dragana Gambiroza-Lazic

I’ve been with MCTV for a few years now and found them wonderful. I’ve had a much better experience than with my last agency and am particularly impressed by their management of my daughter through Joey’s

Elizabeth Bouris

Within my first month, I’ve been considered 3 times, got an audition for a TVC, and then a call back. And even a job offer with a leading Bank.
I signed my children with the agency & while I was at the office, Paul gave us a casting for the kids the same afternoon.

M.C.T.V has been very good to me for over three years now! I do appreciate their efforts in finding me work in four major motion pictures and other jobs
