Here at MCTV we are always amazed at the variety of jobs our members get to work on. As well as the usual television series, commercials and movies, recently we have sent people to appear in music videos, studio audiences and as stand-ins.

We also often get jobs for ‘re-enactments’ for documentary or news programs. Six MCTV members worked on the re-enactments for this Australian Story episode.

‘Bali 2002’ teaser

Stan has released a teaser trailer for its new 4-part series ‘Bali 2002’, based on the real stories of the everyday heroes following the aftermath of the Bali bombings on October 12, 2002.

The series was filmed in Western Sydney on a set constructed to recreate the Sari Club and Paddy’s Irish Bar. Richard Roxburgh and Rachel Griffiths lead a talented ensemble cast.

Congratulations to the 12 MCTV members who worked on this one. It will premiere on Stan on September 25 with all episodes available to stream at once.

First Look at New Heartbreak High

We are so excited to see this reboot of 90s hit series ‘Heartbreak High’. Like the original, this new series was filmed in Sydney earlier this year. Also like the original, 114 MCTV members worked on the new series.

The new trailer has a great soundtrack and plenty of action. There is a content warning, but if appropriate you can check it out here.

‘Heartbreak High’ will premiere on Netflix on September 14.

‘After the Verdict’ Coming Soon

One of the most anticipated shows of the year, ‘After the Verdict’ is set to premiere on Channel 9 and 9Now on August 10th at 8.45pm. The 6 episode series was filmed in Sydney earlier this year and includes over 30 MCTV members.

A twist on the traditional courtroom drama, ‘After The Verdict’ tells the story of what happens to 4 jurors, once a high-profile murder trial comes to an end. Back in the real world, they have second thoughts: have they let a killer go free? And if not, who really did kill the victim? They decide to take the law into their own hands and investigate the murder themselves, and so begins a high-stakes game of cat and mouse uncovering a web of secrets, betrayal, blackmail and murder.

‘After the Verdict’ features a brilliant Aussie cast including Lincoln Younes, Michelle Lim Davidson, Magda Szubanski, Tess Haubrich and Sullivan Stapleton.

Can’t wait to watch this one….well done everyone.

KFC Christmas in July

Congratulations to Tamara K who worked on this Christmas in July campaign for KFC. This year KFC released matching pet and owner jumpers. Tamara did a great job and the jumpers have now sold out, but you can check out the rest of the shoot here.

The Secrets She Keeps Returns

Congratulations to the 51 MCTV members who worked on Season 2 of ‘The Secrets She Keeps’, which premiered this week on Paramount+.

Season 2 opens with an ominous feeling – something has gone terribly wrong for Meghan (Jessica De Gouw). An incident has taken place that will have devastating repercussions for her family and her marriage. In maximum security prison, much-despised inmate Agatha (Laura Carmichael) has a secret of her own, one that makes her desperate to escape to safety…

Check out the intriguing trailer for the latest instalment of this female-led psychological drama. The show has been sold to the BBC in the UK and Sundance in the US.

PM’s Daughter Series 2

Submissions have started for Series 2 of ‘The PM’s Daughter’, which follows the highs and lows of Cat Perez (Cassandra Helmot) as her Mum becomes Prime Minister.

If you want to get a good idea of what happens on set, check out this video of a typical day filming Series 1 of ‘The PM’s Daughter’. Series 1 of the show included 99 MCTV members – you might even spot yourself in the background on some of these scenes.

Kings Cross of the ’80s Revealed

We have been sending heaps of people to “Kings Cross” for the John Ibrahim bio ‘Last King of the Cross‘. As revealed by the Sydney Morning Herald, to avoid the challenges of filming in the real Kings Cross strip, the production team has made an amazing set which replicates Kings Cross, right down to the graffiti!

The article also mentions previous productions set in Kings Cross have had to use other suburban locations, such as Lane Cove to replicate the inner city precinct. Some MCTV members will remember for ‘Underbelly: The Golden Mile’, the Kings Cross sets were put up and down on Longueville Road each night to create the ‘Cross of the 1980s.

Congratulations to everyone who has been to set so far and good luck to those still being submitted. Looks like the show is going to be worth every bit of its $50m pricetag.

Delich announced on Last Days

Sam Delich (‘Spiderhead’, ‘Home and Away’), has landed a major recurring role on Disney+’s comedy-drama series ‘Last Days of the Space Age‘.

Details of his role are being kept under wraps, but rumour has it he will play the villain of the piece. Delich will appear in the supporting role alongside ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘House’ star Jesse Spencer, Radha Mitchell (‘Man on Fire), Deborah Mailman (‘Total Control‘) and Linh-Dan Pham (‘Or De Lui’). More cast announcements are expected soon according to Deadline.

‘Last Days of the Space Age’ is an eight-part dramedy series which blends history with fiction, based on the unbelievable true story of the 1979 Miss Universe pageant held in Perth. As the pageant gets underway, a power strike threatens to plunge the region into darkness and the US space station Skylab crashes just beyond the city’s suburbs. Against this backdrop, three families in a tight-knit coastal community find their marriages, friendships and futures put to the test.
