You may remember this ad, which first aired last Summer. McDonalds is re-running it, which may mean a rollover is due depending on the terms of the contract. A rollover is paid to feature talent when an ad is re-run, which means you get paid again without doing any more work.

William H Macy is joining ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes‘ alongside stars Owen Teague, Freya Allan and Peter Macon, according to Deadline. Macy comes to ‘Apes’, having just finished filming the final and 11th season of ‘Shameless’ in the US.
‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ is currently filming in Sydney. Congratulations to those who have already visited set and good luck to anyone who has been submitted…more to come.
The Meat and Livestock Australia’s traditional Summer lamb ad has arrived and it’s an epic tongue in cheek take on the theme of Australianess.
This is the three minute film version, but also 30 sec and 15 sec clips.

Congratulations to the MCTV members who worked on ‘The Messenger’ for ABCTV. The 8 part series is based on Markus Zusak’s best-selling novel of the same name and follows Ed Kennedy – just another stupid human, until one day he isn’t.
The series features a great cast including William McKenna, Maggie Dence, Alexandra Jensen, Chris Alosio and Kartanya Maynard.

‘Bump’ Season 3 has its traditional Boxing Day premiere today on Stan. MCTV has provided over 350 people to the 3 seasons so far.
The show, which has been a runaway hit for the streamer and has been sold to the US and UK internationally and spawned a spin-off (‘Year Of‘), follows the trials and triumphs of young family Oly, Santi and baby Jacinda.
In Season 3 we fast forward 5 years to Jacinda starting school. There are big changes all round, including for the extended families on both sides.

‘The Gift That Gives’ is a romantic comedy to be filmed in Sydney next month. It follows the story of Callum Mori, an author who appears on fictional TV show, ‘The Arts Corner’ to promote his latest book.
The show is hosted by Kate, who is infatuated with Callum. Callum, however, falls for her best friend, Linda.
Linda owns the bookshop where Callum launches his book and luckily for Kate, fate brings her and Callum’s brother, Austin, together as they discover hidden love letters, signed by aliases. Jointly, they all try to find out who penned them.
The movie will be the fourth rom-com for director Joy Hopwood (top left). Main cast have now been announced – Takaya Honda, HaiHa Le, Lily Brown-Griffiths, Damien Sato , Susan Ling-Young and Lex Marinos (OAM). Accompanied by a great supporting cast who include Maria Tran (‘Last King of the Cross‘), Andy Trieu, Genevieve Craig, and Atharv Kolhatkar.
Filming is expected to commence in Sydney in January. More to come…
Pre-production is ramping up on one of the most anticipated productions of 2023. ‘NCIS Sydney’, the first instalment of the franchise outside of the US, has announced a group of six talented local screenwriters who will help with storylines for the series.
The 10-week full-time paid program will immerse the screenwriters in all facets of the script department and development process. The writers will be supported by experienced creatives including senior script coordinators, writers and editors, who will guide the process and contribute directly to the writers’ learning and professional development.
The writers are Rachael Alford, Ella Cook, James Cripps, Siobhan Domingo, Josh Sambono and Clare Sladden. You can read their full bios here.

‘While the Men are Away’ is a new queer revisionist historical dramedy for SBS set in 1940s rural Australia.
While the men are off fighting in WWII, the people who have been excluded from power suddenly find themselves running the show. Two Women’s Land Army recruits from Sydney arrive in the country and undergo a heady course in race relations, rural politics, spirituality, sex, and personal growth – oh, and farming.
SBS announced the Director and main cast (pictured) today for the series which will commence filming mid January 2023 in Central NSW.
